Avenger Adventures

We got a rest day from the rain.
Jack had been itching to get out and really play Avengers now that he could be both Captain America and Hawkeye. He wanted me to play I wasn't feeling the best so I pulled out my chair and told him my weapon was the hose. It really was nice I didn't have to run around and I could cool down the little superhero. His cheeks got red super fast.

First he started out as Captain America.
His shield did pretty good against my water assault.
I however captured all his discs and two of the arrows.
Captain America must have called for assistance because before I knew it
Hawkeye was there shooting arrows at me!

He was super fast, I got in some good hits and deflects but he was sneaky

and he got me and took back the discs and arrows!

Ahhh defeat, so very heartbreaking!

Hawkeye

Jack has been working for a while for a bow and arrow. He wanted one to be just like Hawkeye from Avengers and then when we saw Brave the desire grew. He saved his dollars he got from Grandma and Grandpa while in Utah. He did a lot of chores and Nana and Pepi also contributed a couple of dollars. We drove to Toy R' Us to pick it up one afternoon after school and then headed to the park to check it out. It was so fun watching him run around with the arrows in his shirt. It had been raining so there was no one on the playground so he could go wild.

Now that he has his bow and arrow when we ask him to continue to do his chores he responds that he doesn't need to work anymore now that he has his bow and arrow! As a good parent I reminded him that the bow and arrow can now be held for ransom if chores are not done.

Kindergarten Jack

Jackson has started off his Kindergarten year!

Jason gave Jack a sweet father's blessing for his school year. Jack started to cry after the blessing and told us that he was happy and felt warm inside. It was a very touching and reassuring moment that it is going to be a great school year.
I got to walk Jack into his classroom and to his desk the first day. He was ready and there were no tears or anything he just sat at his desk like it was totally natural. It didn't hit me Jack was going to be gone all day till I got home. The house was so quiet I really missed that little guy and spent most of my time checking the schedule to see what he was doing.

When I picked Jack up he was all smiles and happy.

We hit major school traffic coming home. I had gotten cupcake to celebrate and Jack ate it in the car while we waited to get home. As soon as we did get home he got out his Legos and went online to Lego.com to see what he could build.

Jack has been excited everyday to go to school.
During the first week of school parents are allowed to walk the kindergartners to their class. Well on the 2nd day Jack told me that I could just drop him off at the car loop. I was shocked and a little heartbroken. It was only the second day and he wanted to be so independent. I asked him one last time as I was in line at the drop off if he was sure he didn't need me. He reassured me he knew where his classroom was. When he got out of the car he did turn around and blow me a kiss.
Needless to say I cried all the way home.
However I do love his school and he seems to have a very wonderful teacher which gives me peace of mind.

Jack has done really well with the whole day schedule and finally broke down one day falling asleep shortly after getting into the car.
What a big boy that Jackson Cooper is becoming.

Just the three of us and paradise.

The morning after we flew home from Utah we took off just our little family of three down south to Marco Island. Jason had a conference and Jack and I got to tag along.  The conference was a super nice hotel. Jason and I felt totally out of our element. It was so fancy and beautiful!
The view from our hotel room was really incredible.
A view of the Gulf, beautiful courtyard and one of the pools.
The first night we went out to dinner with one of Jason's classmate and took a dip in one of the pools. Then we walked along the beach after sunset and took in this view
Each morning Jason would go to his meeting. Jack and I would hit the beach and pool and then when Jason was done with his meetings he would join us.
We had fun on the beach.

Playing in the pools.
There was this fun slide just for kids.
Jack spent the majority of the time going over, over and over again.
It was great Jason I got to just relax near the bottom of the slide and have some time to catch up from our month apart and watch that little boy so very happy.
We had a blast just relaxing

Watching the Sunsets.

And just being together, just the three of us. This was really our first big family vacation just us!
We loved watching the Olympics on our down town in the hotel.
We were watching track one night and it took Jason and I back to our track days.
I wanted to see if I had anything left and challenged the boys to a race.
I raced both both and won. The little one is a little cheater cutting me off several times and the husband was kind and let me win.
The boys then had to race.

We had fun eating on the balcony and looking out at the ocean
and Jack loved using the cool hotel key.
It was a wonderful four day get away with my boys.
One of my favorite parts was how happy the boys and I were.
I don't know how many times tears came to my eyes with the realization this is how life should be and will continue to be.  My other favorite part were those one one talks with Jason inbetweeen Jack's turn down the slide. We talked and planned a lot about our future and I am so grateful that we can talk and plan and dream.
When it was time to go I was sad to leave that place but my heart was full and happy.
We had a great Summer. It started out a little rough but overall it really was the type of Summers we have been talking and planning for.

Utah Summer Lovin

Last post about our Utah trip.
Man it has been hard to do these posts. There were some many wonderful memories everyday Cami and I would just sit and watch the kids and just marvel in the fact they were together, we were together. We have always talked of our Summers in Utah and it will be something to look forward to each year.  I miss them everyday but am so glad for the wonderful memories we made.
Jack and Gracie playing with girl toys. Jack didn't know what to do. He asked Gracie "where all the man barbies were." It was hilarious.
So wonderful to watch their imaginations at work.
Our first Sunday we told Jack we were going to walk to church. He started to fuss and said but the way is sooo long. We laughed and told him it was not like at home where you had to drive 30 min to church. Grace's church was just a block away. He was blown away they walk to church.

Thank you family for the awesome trip!
