The Weekend

I am posting about the weekend on Tuesday because that is how fast the weekend went. I am behind trying to catch up on a new week and all the things it holds.  I have been horrible at documenting things in the new house and need to do better. I know I will regret not writing down our memories of our new time in our house.
Jason was on call Thursday through Monday so we had little time to do home stuff. I wish I could do more by myself. I get frustrated daily with my limitations. I move slow and if I unload one box, or get one room organized and make dinner I consider it a good day.

Friday I went out to dinner with some ladies from church. The boys truly had a guys night. They reported that they ate mac n' cheese, hung up some shelves (with Jack using the drill) and went for a run.  Jason and I got a movie to watch that night but we never made it. We were afraid we would not have stayed awake.
Our couch date. We were pretty tired.
Saturday Mom and Dad stopped on their way to the Temple with a fern delivery.
Dad was kind enough to transplant some ferns from his yard. He was a machine, planting very fast so they could make it to the Temple in time.  Those babies will fill in that whole area one day.

Jason came home late Saturday afternoon and we headed to home depot to look at lawn mowers and weed wackers. Wow it was one of those whoa we are home owners moments when we saw the price of mowers! We once again had good intentions to hang our curtains and watch that movie. It didn't happen. We both had lessons to prepare for church and we were just tired.

Sunday was St. Patrick's Day. Jack really got into the holiday. They had talked about it all week at school so when the day finally came he was excited.
He however didn't like my hat I thought about wearing for church.
I got a text from Mom that afternoon. She texted the siblings asking us if we were wearing green and had our corned beef and cabbage in the crock pot. I responded to her text with this picture.
Our cabbage and corned beef minus the corned beef! The boys did have corn and a type of beef though!
I found some really fun straws, two sets were straw glasses.
It was fun to hear Jack squeal when the cold drink went around his eyes.
He drank so much that night!

We finally got to putting up some of the curtains.
We didn't get them all done so more pictures to come. So far we have paint and curtains and it is looking a lot more like home.
We still haven't watched that movie yet.

................................................................................................................

This didn't happen this weekend but was officially our first home improvement project. Lights in the kitchen. Sweet Dad came over and put them up for us. I got scared when he drilled the first hole for the lights. Thoughts started running through my head on how we were going to fix it when we moved. It was a nice realization we don't have to. That's a really foreign but wonderful feeling to have.

Jack and his Uncles

Uncle TJ is in Florida for busniess and we got to spend the weekend with him.
Sweet Jake got us into Epcot for the day and we were able to meet up with Mom and Dad for the flower and garden festival. Mom and I were outnumber by the boys 4 to 2. Jason was a machine and stayed behind to paint the house. Jack was in heaven with two Uncles, Nana and Pepi.
I think the theme for the day was cars.

There was a whole radiator springs display, with Lighting and Mater made out of greenery!

We rode the new and improved Test Track ride.
Jack was enamored with the concept car we could look at while standing in line. He didn't hear us or see us, he was so focused on that car.

The new improvements were pretty cool. We got divided into teams and each got to design our cars to test out. Jake, Jack and TJ were on one team. It was so fun to watch them create their car. Jack was so excited!

The boys car!
Jack was so cute and totally excited from the ride.
He just kept repeating over and over "That was so awesome"

We had fun walking around and looking at all the amazing creations.

There was an awesome Oz garden with carnival games.

Jack and TJ took a little balloon ride!
Jack kept grabbing Tj's hand, it was the cutest thing.  It was fun to spend time with him.
We made some great memories and cannot wait for Spring Break when we will be with the rest of the Archer clan at Disney!

2/21/13

We are homeowners!
We have been in our house for a week now. It has been quite the week and we have not spent very much time in our new house all together. We have been cleaning out the rental, repainting and Jason's car decided to break down so we took a day to take care of that. This weekend we are just planning to stay in, unpack and just enjoy being in the house. We have been on survival mode and are all exhausted! It's a good kind of exhaustion though.

We closed on the 21st of February. It was only a 45 minute process! We signed a lot of papers. Last time I signed that many papers was before my transplant basically signing that I realized all the complications that could occur. Jason made the comment that it was rather refreshing that we were signing papers that did not include a possibility of death! It was one of the happiest occasions of our lives. We have been waiting for this day for a really long time.

Moments after receiving our keys to OUR house!
Jason and I celebrated over lunch and then picked up Jack and headed straight to the house so we all could experience officially entering our house together.

Jack was so excited he took a dive onto the carpet. I was lucky to get it on video.

I'm not sure what they are doing....I guess just showing how big the island is?

We were pretty excited!
Jason put us all to shame with his jumping abilities.
Jack and I couldn't get off the ground fast enough.

The jetted tub! This certainly is one of the best things of the house. My body  is so happy to have this to use. Jack also loves our "hot tub". He is kinda upset he doesn't have one in his bathroom.
That first night we had a sleep over on air mattresses. We thought Jack would want to sleep with us but he went right upstairs to his room and we didn't see him for the longest time. He had no problem sleeping in his room. He was that excited.  Mom and Dad stopped on their way home from the Temple and we celebrated with cake. My sweet father brought plans for the kitchen. I got so excited and so touched he did that for us.  I can't wait to start!

Jason has gotten really good at backing up huge moving trucks without any help. Jack loves a good moving truck. He spent most of the time playing in it. He kept walking around it, patting it and jumping in and out of it. He was in boy heaven.

Our first dinner in the house!
Since it took us longer than we thought to get out of the rental. Jason had to paint in the dark since the power was turned off. This is a first for him painting by headlamp. We are so happy we are officially out of there!

The family room is the only room that is kinda put together. I had written and drawn out the placement of the furniture in the rooms but once we got in here things have changed. I am so appreciative of technology. I bring Cami shopping with me via text to help pick out the right things. It's always nice to have a second opinion, especially her's. I have fun re reading our messages from our "shopping trips."

We have a lot to do! I love the fact that we can take our time putting things together. I am still getting used to the fact that we can make permanent changes such as woodwork and new light fixtures. The best part we don't have to ask for permission and we don't have to change it back!
It's been a big week. Now that we are officially out of the other house I think I will sleep for a week and try to recover!
