Today Jackson turned FOUR! Oh my I have been a weeping mess I don't know why but this birthday has hit me with such force. There are just some days that I realize how blessed I am to be here for another day to see and make memories with my boys. Today was one of those days. I am so thankful our little miracle baby was born four years ago. I don't want to forget one moment and took enough pictures to hopefully remember each one.
Jack woke up to balloons and the usual birthday sign with presents and cards. He was so cute asking in a very timid voice "what is all of this?" Although he knew it was his Birthday and had been looking forward to it all month was still surprised when he finally woke up and it was here.Such a Jack thing.
He then promptly got to opening presents.
Although he really has not watched Spiderman he requested a Spiderman cake. So we ran with the theme. I found some cheap Spiderman gloves and knowing that he loves to dress up and pretend, included them with one of his presents. He liked them and proceeded to pretend be Spiderman all morning.
That was until Nana and Pepi arrived with more presents. Then Spiderman was put aside.
Although their present was wrapped in Spiderman paper. So not totally forgotten.
Then it was time to go on our great adventure. The Dinosaur Restaurant T-Rex at Downtown Disney. Jack has been so excited for this, telling everyone who would listen that this is where he was having his Birthday party. We received birthday calls all the way there. He is one loved little boy.
We were seated in the Coral Reef Room. The view from our booth.
It took Jack a little bit of time to warm up to the place. It was rather loud and the dinosaurs were really big. At first he wouldn't leave Pepi's lap but after he had taken it all in and realized that it was just fun stuff to look at he turned to me and said "This is the best restaurant ever."
Checking things out
On Pepi's lap still adjusting.
At this point he had figured out it was fun and wanted to get down to business. Eating.
Blowing out the candle on his dessert. After being sung too by a group of waiters.
After lunch it was on to our second promised adventure. A trip to the Lego store to pick out whatever he wanted. One from Mom and Dad and one from Nana and Pepi! He was so good at just looking, when it came down to choosing, after making his choice we had to convince him to choose another little something to go with it.
We checked out some other toy stores and took a little walk around.
Jack loves this spot, all the pathways through the grass. Every time we visit Downtown Disney we have to make a stop here to let him run. He pretends he is a car on the roads. He ran while Nana and Pepi popped into the Candy Cauldron to score us a candy apple.
Which was shared and enjoyed!
All rosy cheeked and tired we headed back home.
Where we finally had his Spiderman cake.
I felt bad that the chocolate spiderweb on top had melted and dripped into this but Jack was so kind. The first thing he said about the cake was "Oh Spiderman is on his web." What a sweet little boy to acknowledge my efforts! He got what it was supposed to be so that was enough for me.
I absolutely love this picture.
Such excitement and possibilties in a birthday wish.
He got them all!
The rest of the day looked like this....
He was so delightful all day long. He is a delightful little boy.
This last year he really has become quite the social little guy. He always has nice things to say to people. Like when we are out on our bikes and see someone walking their dogs he always tells them that he likes their dogs. He always comments on peoples ties at church and is not afraid to say hello to anyone. He is our entertainer and has quite the comedic timing. It is fun celebrating him! So much fun that the partying is not over. Tomorrow we still have a Skype party planned with Grandma and Papa to open their presents and a family dinner with his favorite foods.
It has been a wonderful weekend.
Love you Jackson Cooper Balls
