Birthday Celebrations Continued.

Jack's Birthday was great. We finished the day with more presents from Kate when she came home from work. We went out to dinner where Jack had his favorite MEAT! Then we finished off the night with phone calls and more playing with the new toys.

Saturday was another big day. We met mom and dad at Hollywood Studios for the boys birthday celebration. Dad's,Jack's and Jason's.

Dad had me take this picture for you Cami. We cannot see Miss Piggy and not think of you.

We got Jack some Lighting McQueen ears. He looked so dang cute in themWe had a birthday dinner for the boys in between parks. I made cupcakes and we sang to the boys. Jack had us sing again but this time just for him. Mainly so he could blow out the candles one more time.Mom and Dad got Jack a BUZZ. He didn't say a word. He was really excited!
First meeting with buzz, then took Buzz over to meet Daddy, then to meet Woody, then buzz rode on Jack's back. He really likes his Buzz.
We headed to Epot after dinner and Jack of course fell asleep on the way. It was too cute not to take a picture of. He was ready to go once we got there though.
Eating an eclair in France. It was good and rich.
As we were just sitting down to watch the fireworks it started pouring. We ran for cover and watched the firework show from our shelter. We thought that we could just wait it out but it started raining harder and harder. We had to be at the furthest point from the entrance and all the stores around us were already closed so no ponchos or umbrellas were available. Dad got creative and took some unused garbage bags and we ran for it! We got soaked.
Jack was such a good kid. He didn't cry or complain. Dad was running through the puddles and Jack kept yelling "run Pepi run!" To which he did and then Jack would laugh hysterically.
It was quite the night. Jason drove home with his shirt off. I laughed the whole way home every time I looked his way. Today we were all tired. Jack didn't even get up in time for sacrament meeting. We made it for the rest of church meetings but between the birthday weekend and primary I was worn out. Every time I sat down I fell asleep even in Jack's bed. Jason took this picture and properly captioned it "Disney hangover". Yep that is about right. It was quite the party weekend. I just love birthday celebrations, even when they are not mine!

Jack's Birthday Morning Celebration

Happy Birthday Jackson!
Jack has a lot of people who love him that could not be here to celebrate with us today. So I thought I would document the day through posts. Starting with this morning. We had to wake Jack up so that he could open his presents before Jason had to go back to school. He was not too happy when I woke him up singing but then I mentioned presents and with eyes half open he said "presents!." "Show me!" he was up and ready to party!

Birthday Lunch.

The menu included all of Jack's favorites. Chips, tomatoes, apples, chips, dino nuggets and did I mention chips? That boy loves his chips. Cake for dessert.
The guests included. Jack the birthday boy.
Jason...the dad.

Whitney...the mom.We didn't make it very far through the lunch when the Cake was requested. Jack just mostly wanted the car on top. Wow 3 Years old. Crazy.
A bite or two and then we were off to playing again.
A plate of Jack's favorites. Cake, chips and gummi bears. Sadly he won't even sit down and eat them...meals are a problem at our house, even on birthdays I guess.
I coaxed him to come inside to watch Peter Pan, he was all sweaty and hot. He watched Peter Pan and played with play dough. Then it was back to cooking. What a guy.

Anxiously Awaiting.

Three years ago on this day, Jason and I along with our families were anxiously awaiting Jackson's birth day. He was past his due date, my mom had flown in and Cami and Gracie were in town. We were ready to get the party started.

( Jackson's Birthday 9/25/2006.looking at this picture I think we look so young. This really was just the beginning of time spent in the hospital I would spend over the next two years. Ironic enough it was my first time ever spending the night in the hospital I remember thinking how lucky I had been that I had gone 23 years without a overnight hospital stay, including making it through 12 rounds of chemo. Oh how young and innocent I was. I think those experiences have really aged...... uh I mean.... matured us. Well actually,I would have to say it did both.)
Today I feel that same way. I am anxious for his birthday celebrations to begin. Mainly because
I want my bed back!

Jack is getting a kitchen to play with out on the patio for his birthday. I am hoping that it will take him outside to play and leave my bedroom as a bedroom and not the extra play room. I might be fighting a losing battle but I would like just one room that is car less for at least a portion of the day.

However I think this will lead to more of this....

Finger and nose prints on the patio door! But unlike the car situation that can be taken care of easily with just ONE good clean up a day.

A mother can only hope.

And speaking of waiting....good news on the pet scan, it has been approved!!!! It WILL be done on Monday morning. Thank you for all your kind messages and love.

Happy Birthday Pepi.

Today was my dad's( a.k.a Pepi) Birthday. We met to have dinner at BOMA a great buffet restaurant inside the Animal Kingdom Lodge

Dad opened presents in the lodge before we ate

We strolled the Animal Kingdom Lodge grounds and checked out the pool. It was a fun place. Then it was finally time to eat!
Mom and the Birthday boy with the famous butternut squash soup. This soup is such a delight it tastes like pumpkin pie in liquid form. They did not have it out and my dad was so sad so he asked one of the ladies if they had any and she came out with five bowls. What treatment.
Jack had to sample everything that was brought to the table. Look at all those plates. He loved the soup too!

After the enjoyable dinner. We headed outside the lodge. We sat in giant rockers around a fire. Yes I said a fire. It is getting chilly here at night now. Totally kidding but my blood has thinned being away from Cache Valley that is for sure.
The parents. Dad talking to family on the phone again. He is loved.
It was way past Jack's bed time and he fell asleep within a few min in the car after some loud yawning,

Happy Birthday again Dad. We love you so Pepi!

In limbo and The Kate cooking expereince.

I am in limbo again today. Yesterday the scan didn't happen. Just like it didn't happen last week. They are still waiting for insurance approval. So I was "on call" yesterday. You have to fast before the scan so I was anxious and fasting. My mom occupied us by playing with Jack and we sat on the patio enjoying the cooling weather (weather not in the 90's). My mom took us to the mall to get some lunch in the late afternoon when it was apparent the scan wasn't happening. We took a visit to see Kate at work. My mom bought us some pumpkin decorated cookies and we headed home. Jack and I spent the rest of the day playing and watching nature animal shows.

I was his road for his trucks.

One of the goals since Kate moved in is to get her cooking. She will be the first to tell you she needs some help. Last night I was weak from fasting most of the day out of it so I put Kate to work. We started simple with taco soup (mainly canned items) and corn bread.

You model those cans...and who made that cute apron?

Cheers to a successful meal, student and teacher.

We ended the night by catching up on shows we had missed. Jackson too!

Today I am "on call" again. Luckily it is a study day for Jason at school so he can go with me if it does indeed happen.
