Our Days out with Jack.

This last month Jack has had special solo outings with me and Jason.

Jason and Jack had quite the Saturday a couple weeks ago. Jason got tickets to a Monster truck rally. I was sick so they got a whole day of boy time. To start out the day they took the car in to the shop. I heard that they went and got sandwiches and ate them while watching the tires being rotated.  Then they went on a bike ride. I got this sweet picture and video of their outing.

The boys left just before dinner for the monster truck rally. Jack was so excited to go. He walked out the door with his binoculars around his neck. It was fun seeing those two drive off in the car on their adventure.

I did ask for pictures because I knew Jack would be so excited.  All I got were of the cars and trucks. Finally I had to text Jason to ask to see Jack's face. I guess next time I need to be specific that I want pictures of Jack and not of what they are seeing. It was kind of comical.

On their way home I talked to Jack, he was talking so fast I didn't understand half of what he was saying. By the time they got home Jack was fast asleep, he was worn out from his big day out with daddy.

My turn came today. Jason still being out in Utah and our Disney passes about to expire, Jack and I went to Hollywood Studios. Our main goals were to ride Star Tours and watch the stunt car show.  Jack got a little teary eyed as we were walking in expressing how much he missed daddy. It wasn't the same without our other amigo.

We did hit all the things we wanted to do.
The higlights of the outing
*Sitting on the first row of the Star Tours ride. Jack kept going back and forth between being excited and scared.
* Finally going to the Herbie themed food truck we have walked by a hundred times and finding an awesome treasure. Jack's kids meal came in this huge R2D2! He was so excited. It is big enough to store all his Star Wars legos! Score!
* Being surprised with a change up in the stunt show. Lightening McQueen is now in it and actually chases a bad guy from the movie. Jack jumped up from his seat as soon as Lightening drove out!

Fun days out with Jack!

Valentines

Valentines Day is quickly becoming one of my favorite holidays. Especially now that Jack is in Elementary school, it brings back all these wonderful memories for me. This year's Valentines I didn't get to decorate because everything was packed. What we did do to celebrate the holiday was fun.
I love kids valentines boxes so I was pretty excited when we got the assignment to make one this year. Jack was playing with Lego's when I read the assignment and I thought what better way to represent our year than a Lego themed box. It was fun to paint the box and cups with Jack. I loved seeing his excitement as the box came together.
Jackson was super cute filling out his Valentines.
He was very thoughtful on which Valentine to give each one of his classmates.

All the Kindergartners were invited to dress up in their best dress to attend the wedding of Q and U during the week of Valentines. It was one of the cutest ideas, to help the kids understand Q and U always go together. Jack wanted to pick out his own outfit. This is what he picked out including the sparkly green bow tie! Oh how he melted my heart. He was so excited when he came home to tell me all about how they had wedding cake and he danced with one of the cute girls in his class.

Of course we made heart shaped cookies.
Jack is the best little baker and very complimentary to his mama telling me I was a good baker!

Finally the big day arrived.
The little man was pretty groggy and not wanting to get up but boy did his eyes open when he saw his Star Wars valentines box waiting for him. They were filled with Star Wars themed conversation hearts. I think the only one I got was Mine will U B. Jack had to explain what the others meant to me.
Jack was bouncing in his seat on the way to school, he was so excited to get his Valentines. It was so cute watching all the kids walk into the school with their boxes and gifts. Jack had a little rose plant to give his teacher and was so adorable watching him walk into school holding it tightly.

When I picked him up he told me he had the BEST DAY EVER!

Going through his "loot"
Jason is in Utah for a work convention so Jack and I had our own little dinner of our favorites . Jack just wanted Sushi, still such a shock that this is his go to meal being such a picky eater. We had fun cutting our fruit and vegetables out with heart cookie cutters. I was so exhausted we ate in front of the TV just so I could get a little break. Moving is kind of wearing me down.

My sweet Valentine made me the cutest card and picked out such good chocolates for me to eat. It really was a shock how good his taste are with presents when he wasn't even at the store when they were purchased.

By bedtime Jack was worn out and fell asleep quickly. Since my other Valentine was out of town I ended my night by eating my chocolates, catching up on Downton Abbey and going to bed early.
Oh I don't want to forget the Jack funny of the day.
I ran into the grocery store to get a couple of things before I picked up Jack. On my way out they handed me a rose and wished me a Valentines day. (I love Publix). On the way home I was telling Jack about how I got a rose at the store. Jack asked me if it was a man or a woman who gave me the rose. I told him it was a man and he responded "Well mom I guess you have to go on a date with him now." I laughed all the way home.

Disney Saturdays.

The last couple of weeks we have hit Disney each week to get our money out of our passes.
We got to experience the new attraction in Fantasy land. I love the Little Mermaid ride. Ariel has always been my favorite.

The Beast's Castle.

We had an amazing drink at Gaston's Tavern.

We often make these trips with Mom and Dad. We have made some wonderful memories.

We have had some good laughs!

I love our Disney Days and Nights!

The Black Pearl

We had to say good bye to the Oldsmobile. The car served us well. I had that car all my college years. It was the perfect car for all my commutes back and forth from St.George to Logan all on one tank of gas. It was like sitting on a couch.
Dad was our pioneer out to Florida in this car. He really loved the Oldsmobile. It was sad to see it go.
Dad now has a new car!
Jack likes to name the cars in our family but his names are not real original. For example our car is wagony, Jason's, blacky. Meredith's Jeepy and Jake's is speedy. Jack called Dad's new car Cooley. However the car ended up with the clever name The Black Pearl! Mom's car is pearl and Dad came up with the clever name. Kind of silly going on about the names of our cars but our little boy is a little bit car obsessed!

We broke in the Black Pearl one Saturday with a high adventure.
Our first stop was down to Treasure Island beach for the kite festival.

We saw some fun kites. My favorite was the big octopus and a big hound dog one. We finally found some decent kites to buy for our kite wheel and are excited to hit the beach again to fly them!

Just down the beach was Sno Balls! An awesome shaved ice place. It is crazy but there are not a lot of these places down here. We got the shark's blood to share and it was so good. Worth the trip right there. It was fun to sit in the sun, eat our shaved ice and watch the kites across the street floating in the sky.

Next we drove further North up the coast to Tarpon Springs. We went to the craft fair at the Sponge docks. A heavily influenced little Greek town. Where they harvest sea sponges. We had lunch at a great Greek restaurant. Mom and I had the best Greek salads and the boys enjoyed their Gyros. We did a little shopping and just had fun walking around looking at all the fun creations.

It was a great breaking in trip. As always it was fun to hit the small beach communities and fall in love again with where we live.
