Seven

Last week we celebrated our seven year anniversary. Jason met me at the Temple after work. We had a beautiful session together and then he took me out for ice cream. It was low key but perfect, and just what we needed.

I love this man and our life together.

Today's the first day of Summer!

This was our first week of just being able to stay home and do as we please. We had such a delightful afternoon yesterday. The weather was surprisingly nice where we were able to play out on the patio. We are reading out of Stuart Little each day and taking it easy! Hooray for the first day of Summer!
I think we will celebrate with something sweet!

Father's Day

Fathers Day weekend was wonderful.
Jack had been staying at Mom and Dad's for a week. I spent a couple days up at girls camp with the young woman and then had my second Rituxan treatment for my GVHD. It was a hard week and by the time Saturday hit I was more than ready to be reunited with Jack. When we walked in to mom and dad's Jack came running to me and it calmed my anxious heart. It never felt so good to be with both my boys again.
The treatments have made me feel funny and just not myself but that afternoon I got to just lay on the couch and watch the boys play. I can't believe how healing that was. To be surrounded by my family really was the medicine that I needed. It was also fun to hear Jack, Nana and Pepi recount their week of adventures together.  Once again my family has come to my rescue and I couldn't be more thankful.

We had a lazy afternoon and had fun playing in the pool.  It is Summer alright and I think this was the first time I have gotten into the pool this year. A sign of Summer to me for sure.
I got to spend some time that night with my friends at book club and it made me miss our former neighborhood and ward. Sunday we attended church with Mom and Dad. It was great to be with Dad on Father's day and to listen to mom give a wonderful talk in sacrament and to be reunited with friends. Jason had duties in our ward so he wasn't able to join us at church but arrived back to mom and dad's in time to spend the afternoon out playing in the pool with Jack. That is one of the things that I love about Jason. He is such a hands on father and does so much with Jack. They play so different from anything I can do and it is fun to watch Jack and Jason's faces light up together.
Mom and dad were such gracious hosts.
Dad helped blow up my barge and mom provided us with snacks and Popsicle breaks. It is just so great to be at their house it is so beautiful and welcoming and relaxing for sure.

Love you dad!
We finished off the night with a father's day meal complete with Steak, potatoes, a wonderful watermelon arugula salad topped off with cake!
One of Nana and Jack's projects from the week. They turned out so cute.

It was just a nice relaxing weekend and it was so wonderful that night to make that drive back home with both my boys.

Hooray for Jack!

Jackson Cooper graduated from Pre-School!
Each class did a performance. Jack's class sang Tony Chestnut. It was fun watching Jack he was such a little character. I have to admit I cried, it was just one of those Mom moments. He just looked so big.

Jason took the day off so we took advantage of all the time with him.

When we came home Jack was anxious to open his present.
He got a whole box of big boy legos (the smaller ones).
Then the exciting part.
Since Jack graduated what did we do next?
We headed to Disney World!!!
Big Thunder Mountain has re-opened. It is Jason's and my favorite ride, and it's a train so we thought Jack would love it. We were so excited we got fast passes and then stood in line so we could ride it twice. Well at least that was the plan. Jack had to really be convinced to ride it. The whole time we were in the line he was going back and forth from excitement to being scared. When we finally got up to ride he started crying really hard. I am sure we were a sight pleading with our crying five year old to get in the train.
Jack checking out the ride to see if he was up for it.
In the end he said he had fun but we couldn't convince him to go on it again.
He just wanted to get home and play with his legos.
A humble reminder that even though he seems all grown up he is still a 5 year old.

Jack's last day is today and then we are free!!!
Welcome Summer break and cheers to our Kindergartner!
