Bok Tower Gardens

Last week we got to visit Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales. Jason had heard about it from someone at school and we wanted to go. Edward Bok a rather wealthy man didn't have any children and wanted to leave the world a better place. He commissioned famous landscape architects to create the gardens and a famous architect to build the tower that plays different carillon music and hymns every hour.
It was quite impressive, with all it's southern garden charm.
We found a great place to have a picnic.
Jack was our photographer for this shot. This was on one side of the tower looking over the surrounding orange groves. I think this was the highest elevation we have been to since moving to Florida.
We let this guy run his heart out thinking in theory that it would wear him out for the rest of the day. Needless to say it should have worked but this kid has so much energy he didn't crash like we thought. Not even close.
He did enjoy feeding the giant goldfish with his dad
and posing with the different plant life. I really like his attitude in this picture.
The tower the garden is famous for.

This whole place is surrounded by orange groves and it smelled delightful.
The drive in and out was through the grove what a nice greeting and ending sight it was.
Spring has come to Florida and it is quite wonderful. It was nice to be out in the warmth without the humidity. We have to take it while we can.
