Getting Back to that Place.

This morning Jack did something that he hasn't done with me since he was a little baby. He stayed and cuddled and played with me in bed. He did more playing with his cars then cuddling but we were there just hanging out together. I was telling him the story about when he was just a couple weeks old. We had a routine. We would have our early morning feeding around 6:30 and he would finish right as Jason's alarm clock went off and he got up to go to school. Jack and I would slip into our warm bed...thanks to Jason and we would both sleep till the next feeding. It was the best sleep I ever got and I felt so happy.

I wasn't able to do that long because after a month my legs started to go numb and I was limited and scared to walk around with a little baby in my arms when I was so unsteady. Mornings had always been so hard for me after that. So today when Jack lingered by my bed side I felt that happiness again. I was feeling good and there was nowhere I needed to rush off to...no pain that kept me from enjoying just being with him. Next month will be my two year mark since the transplant and today was one of those days where I was filled with so much gratitude that I am getting back to that place. A place where I can just be with Jack, have our little routines and not feeling sick.
This last week I have been tackling the potty training stuff again. We took a break for a couple of months and I think that is what BOTH Jack and I needed. He is getting it...for the most part. It can be super frustrating but today as I sat there with him I realized hey we are doing this together. I am new to training and it is all new to him. Once I looked at it that way things got better. I have found myself becoming more patient and have enjoyed all the time that I have got to spend with him. I have been his shadow these last couple of days to make sure that if he shows the "signs" we make it to the bathroom. In order to get him to want to sit on the potty we play games, sing songs and I even dance in celebration. Although these last few days have been tiring I have loved spending so much time with Jack. He has been my sole focus and it has made me so much happier. This post is mainly for me to just remember that

I am a stay at home mom.

This is my Job.

It can be hard and exhausting.

But it can also be the sweetest and most rewarding thing I will ever do.

To make it even better this job comes with treats.
and my co-workers are pretty dang cute and keep me laughing....

My co-workers have also been so understanding and patient with me since I came back from my medical leave. I will...no I AM making it back to that place each day.
