Thanksgiving 2013

Our first Thanksgiving in our new home made it one to remember.
We were all busy bee's the days before and Thanksgiving morning.
Finishing projects and getting the house ready for our guests.
There was painting, decorating and cleaning right up to the first guests arriving.
Aunt Lynn and even Granddad made it to our house for the feast. Granddad was not sure if  he was going to be able to make it, but he did! We all called it our Thanksgiving miracle. In four years we have lived in Florida Granddad has never been in any of our "homes". It was so wonderful to show everything to him. He brought another cool car for Jack. Jack had all the cars Granddad had given him all lined up and ready to greet him, it was the cutest sight.
Mom and her good looking Turkey!
Look how Mom and Dad match each other and the turkey!
Aunt Lynn and Jack had a domino tournament.
 Jack's competitive side came out.
My first big girl Thanksgiving table, with Grandma's beautiful china.
When we all sat down I couldn't help thinking how wonderful it was to have Granddad at the table.
The feast ready to be served.
Jake and Sheldon also joined us poor Meredith had to work again this year.
Jason was there too but somehow there are no pictures with him in them. What?
Grandad had some wonderful stories, we sat around and just listened.

I sat at the table with a heart full of gratitude. To be with family, in our home and to share stories and love with each other. It was so wonderful and was full of all the things Thanksgiving should be. Plus I did a rare thing and held a big ol' turkey leg!

If you know me and my aversion to big turkey legs, you know that I must have been happy and feeling good!
(It's hard to look at that picture now.)
